I approach designing costumes like an archeologist breaking ground on an exciting new dig. I love research, nuance and detail.  Every costume element enhances the characters and shapes their evolution.

According to family lore, I was always opinionated about fashion, refusing to wear anything that didn't twirl between the ages of two and six.  I was born in Berkeley but grew up in Malibu where my childhood hobbies included horseback riding (won many ribbons barrel racing), ballet (the pink slippers and tutu's held special appeal) and participating in Junior Lifeguards.

After graduating from Santa Monica High School I attended college in Santa Barbara where I studied communications and anthropology.  During a summer break I interned for Roger Corman's costume department where I found my passion for costume design.  I then attended The Fashion Institute of Fashion and Merchandising and began my costume design career.

My designs range from realistic to fantasy, from edgy to sophisticated and from mainstream to character driven.
